Newspaper Stifles Deep Links to Articles

After an extended absence from the office I have just retrieved a voice mail from the Los Angeles Times requesting that I remove the link to the article "Firm says law stifles fair use on DVDs" until we can negotiate a licensing fee. This article was reprinted by SunSpot.net, an online service of The Baltimore Sun, and appeared in the News section of my site. Fortunately, the article is still available here and here. Click here for my thoughts on deep linking and here and here for some articles on linking law.

Denise Howell, of Bag and Baggage, takes a look at the Latimes.com's terms of service here.
