Intellectual Property Primers

ICANN Blog posts the Q&A in the Village Voice regarding what happens when your domain name is generic and you let the renewal lapse. Of course the most practical advice is to renew your domain names ahead of time.

The Trademark Blog discusses the Q&A between small business owner and an advisor in the Sacramento Bee. He offers advice to both regarding clearing names for use as trademarks as well as touting his own services.

Rick Klau, via tins, links to Erik Heels primer on how to choose a domain name and also offers an overview of trademark law and domain name protection.

Ernie the Attorney has written a little piece called Anatomy of a Conversation Among Weblogs about the recent exchange of postings concerning Judge Posner's remarks criticizing the "enormous expansion" of intellectual property law.
