High Court to Look at Internet Jurisdiction Case
Last year, the Australian High Court worried Internet advocates by ruling that Dow Jones could be sued for libel in Australia for an article that appeared on one of the U.S. media company's Web sites. Now, a case going before the U.S. Supreme Court at its private conference on Friday poses a domestic version of that same jurisdictional dilemma: For a medium that knows no boundaries, where should Internet torts be litigated?
