2 Schools Complain About Cybersquatting Web Sites

Two local schools are protesting the use of their names on the Internet to sell real estate. The realtor using the schools' names said she's surprised by their reaction... click on KalaniHighSchool.org and you get a Kalani High School Report written by realtor Barbara Bradley. Bradley does the same technique with Punahou School, offering free relocation packages to people who click on to PunahouSchool.org. [yahoo!

Apparently, Bradley paid a cybermarketing company $1,000 for this cybersquatting technique. Bradley stated in the article that not only was she not told there might be legal problems with using school names, but also it hasn't generated any new business, either.

What I find funny about this story is that Bradley thinks that she can " call that company and get my money right back." This is why you hire attorneys before you start doing business on the web people. There are legal ramifications to operating a domain name as I try to point out each and every day.
