7th Circuit affirms "Aimster" injunction

The Seventh Circuit, in In re Aimster Copyright Litigation, has affirmed the district court injunction. In an opinion by Judge Posner, the court rejects Aimster's argument that the Sony v. Universal ruling protects its file-sharing service from liability for copyright infringement. The court also discusses vicarious infringement liability and DMCA issues. [CommLawAlert]
