Hamilton on the RIAA Initiative to Sue Students

Techdirt contributor Mike says that Professor Marci Hamilton "has been tricked into writing a misleading piece explaining her opinion as to why suing college students for sharing music is the right thing to do." Professor Hamilton's findlaw column is here: Why Suing College Students for Illegal Music Downloading Is the Right Thing To Do.

I took Copyright and the Constitution with Professor Hamilton. I can't disagree with her argument, I certainly don't believe it's misleading or the result of her being tricked. I can disagree about the outcome of the RIAA's lawsuits.

Update: I appreciate that Mike from Techdirt, whose site is truly an excellent information source, has taken the time to comment on his email correspondence with Prof. Hamilton. Here's a snippet: "I was hoping to find a reasonable debate, and instead I got typical lawyering."

Also, Furdog comments and The Curmudgeonly Clerk points.
