Kill All the Copyright Lawyers

Has Ed Quillen gone too far, in this Denver Post piece, wondering whether society would be best served if copyright laws were repealed: "any law that can be twisted the SCO way, enforced the RIAA way, extended the Disney way, or abused the Ziff-Davis way is a law that ought to be repealed."

Not only would this eliminate a nice chunk of change that surely goes into copyright lawyers pockets, but it would also kill the lively debate and all the fun we're having with the RIAA and MPAA. Hell, if that happened what would Lessig and Doctorow blog about? Me, I've always got trademark to fall back on.
