CAN-SPAM Act becomes Law January 1

unSecure Privacy reports that:
President Bush signed into law the CAN-SPAM Act. The White House has issued Fact Sheet on the new law.
And also directs us to a c|net article (t) and his own law firms' bulletin [pdf] that discusses some of its pros and cons.

In A Nutshell: "Don't fake your IP address. Give your name and street address. Provide a working opt-out."

Chris Ulbrich: The definition of unsolicited e-mail includes loopholes wide enough to drive a dump truck of junk mail through.
