Well, this certainly explains things

Lawyers just aren't happy, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor told a Wyoming audience this week. Three times as likely to suffer depression as other professionals, attorneys are also more likely to experience divorce, suicide and drug dependency, said O'Connor, citing unnamed studies. O'Connor reported that 30 years after her classmates had graduated Stanford Law School, "the vast majority" expressed regrets.
