44% of Kids Don't Download Copyrighted Music Illegally

According to a survey of 1,183 8-18 year olds, 88% know that music is copyrighted and 44% won't dowload it. Sounds like good news for the music industry to me.

A significant number of respondents worried that they might be downloading computer viruses with their music and probably with good reason since the RIAA has flooded popular p2p with awful screech music who knows what else they will try. I imagine downloaders will begin to move their filesharing activities to more secure underground networks in order to avoid such problems.
