2 year blawg-versary
I started this site as a link repository in August 2002 to manage the myriad of legal links I was coming across such as the The Columbia Law School Music Copyright Infringement Online Archive (8/16/2002), cases, etc.
But then I had a deep link run in with the L.A. Times who told me not to link to an article reprinted on SunSpot.net, an online service of The Baltimore Sun, so I started griping about disturbing legal issues. Then just as I was considering calling it quits in early January 2003, Blogger named Tech Law Advisor a blog of note, about the same week they were bought by Google.
Shortly thereafter, I started writing about the legal ramifications of blogging, squatting, scraping, clicking, and linking on the web -- covering items like receiving cease and desist notices from Puma for posting photos of ... in May 2003 I moved off blogspot to host the site myself. I kept a pretty steady pace until early May 2004 when I began experiencing blogger burnout.
Anyway, I'm back and I've overhauled the site to more effectively deliver targeted content and I am putting no pressure on myself to discover the next instance of IP law abuse. I'll just discuss the issues as they present themselves, attempt to add a little levity to the proceedings and occasionally attempt something new.
For anyone interested, here's my first post (August 2002) and here's what I was up to last year.
