NYT denies Moore permission to reprint Iraq article

The New York Times is reporting that NYT has denied Michael Moore permission to include 'The Times and Iraq', an article in which "The Times reviewed shortcomings in its own reporting about the events leading up to the war in Iraq", in Moore's forthcoming book: The Official 'Fahrenheit 9/11' Reader. [via Gawker]

I think that Moore, who doesn't agree with copyright laws in the first place, should just go ahead and include the article in his book. (warning prior statement has the potential to induce infringement)

I mean the guy has a stable of lawyers, including Lessig, to duke it out for him and maybe he can affect some change in the law that he so dislikes -- possibly with regard to one's ability to make use (fair use) of copyrighted works in order for commentary.
