Induce Act Blog News
October 22, 2004: We've invited a new contributor to the Induce Act blog to assist in the patent law related coverage of Intellectual Property bills floating through the house. Stephen Nipper, of Invent Blog fame, has joined us. His first post, entitled current patent bills and the marketplace, directs us to a Promote the Progress post on two late term patent bills.
October 13, 2004: With the induce act dead for now, we will be broadening our coverage to include other copyright bills winding their way through Congress; after being chastised by Professor Lawrence Lessig for ignoring HR 4077.
Also, Google News has reviewed the Induce Act Blog and will be including it as a source.

Good idea getting some patent expertise in on the Induce Act blog. Although our focus on the site is expanding, I'd like to hear a bit more about the patent law of inducement to infringe. After all, IICA will be back sooner than later. I've written (unpublished) a (rough draft) paper on the topic but I don't have the background that Stephen does. I wonder what sort of effects the inducement doctrine has had in patent law, negative or positive. Once we understand that we can discuss how those effects may manifest themselves within the copyright law. Perhaps we will discover other difficulties with IICA beyond the regular old complaints about supressing innovation of tech. New lines of attack would be nice to have out there when the bill is reconsidered during the next session of Congress.
