Is simultaneous downloading theft?
Scheherazade has a Digital Music Question for us:
In return I'll post my own question:
Would the RIAA still come after me if I paid 99 cents for songs I got on iTunes and then downloaded in mp3 format from LimeWire or some such?Probably not because they've been focused on the uploaders, but they might come after you if you make your iTunes catalog available via limewire, however, I haven't seen them go after someone for less than 8 available uploads.
In return I'll post my own question:
Do you think it's illegal and/or unethical for me to download songs from grokster for which I bought a cassette tape back in 1983.For example, Billy's Got a Gun from Def Leppard's Pyromania.

I've been thinking a bit about this recently too. If I own a CD, can I be sued for downloading the same CD?
And more importantly, the question is not whether the RIAA WOULD sue me, but whether they COULD sue me.
