Yahoo spyware suit filed

Crafts by Veronica has filed a class action lawsuit [pdf] against Yahoo! (YHOO), in the District Court of New Jersey, alleging spyware driven click fraud.
Last year, Ben Edelman, one of the lawyers representing plaintiff, published a detailed look inside Yahoo's connections with various alleged spyware providers. In his report, Edelman presented findings that Yahoo! had engaged in syndication fraud (placing advertisers' ads into spyware programs and charging advertisers for resulting clicks)and click fraud (charging advertisers for "fake" clicks). This will be interesting to watch and see if it costs the search giants as much as Google (GOOG) recently paid to settle their click fraud suit with Lane's Gifts.
