7 Deadly Statements: Chastity
When I was studying for the bar I made up this great one-liner that included all the defamatory per se statements under New York Law. In this week's Writ, Julie Hilden discusses whether promiscuity is still a slur or whether you can call someone a sex crazed nympho in New York.

I still get confused
If I received the Mallrats soundtrack CD as part of a promotion from 106.3 back in the 90's (before it was bought out -- when Matt Pinfield was a DJ there) ... do I have the right to download Web In Front or do I have to buy the entire album since its not available on iTunes? Damn, copyright is hard.

Rusty's Island Chips
Stuart Ross, a partner at RDB, has sent a case of his Rusty's Chips to the office for everyone to sample. Good taste for half the fat of Lay's and they're extremely crunchy.
It's a rather interesting side line business for an insurance defense litigator.

unmasking bloggers
Daniel J. Solove on anonymous blogging [via politech]:
A company filed a lawsuit in order to unmask the identity of an anonymous blogger, who was a company employee. After obtaining the blogger's identity from a subpoena to Yahoo, the company withdrew the lawsuit. The company then used the information to fire the blogger. The employee has now sued the company for abuse of legal process, invasion of privacy, and other causes of action.
