The role: Global Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Advertising

You will lead Google's efforts to build partnerships with trade associations, interest groups and non-profit organizations based in Washington D.C. Your job will be to manage our outreach to groups beyond the technology world and familiarize those groups with Google's mission, values and products. Working in concert with our D.C. policy team and consultants, you will identify priority constituencies and groups and build long-term alliances that can help broaden Google's appeal and achieve our policy goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead Google's outreach efforts to trade associations and interest groups in Washington D.C.
Help design, implement and maintain partnerships with high-priority groups.
Lead Google's work among the non-profit community.
Highlight Google through participation in trade shows and conferences.
Work with Google's PR team, seek positive media coverage of Google partnerships.

Requirements:

BA/BS degree preferred with a strong academic record (Post-graduate degree a plus).

At least 7 years of professional experience in communications, public affairs or Washington, DC outreach type role.
Ideal candidate would have direct experience working in communications/policy capacity with Washington, DC trade associations and interest groups.

Proven communicator with very strong oral presentation skills and capable of working calmly in high-stress environment.
Self starter with the capacity to design deals and partnerships.

Senior Counsel for Fox Broadcasting Company: Los Angeles, California

Fox Broadcast Company (FBC) is recruiting a Senior Counsel to work with the SVP, Legal Affairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide legal advice, review and analyze FBC departments in order to facilitate the business strategies and agendas of each department.
- Review collateral materials in print, online and via other media in order to prevent/limit legal, financial and publicity exposure and liability while furthering the goals of each department.
- Negotiate, draft and interpret a wide range of agreements and documents in order to memorialize and record the Company’s legal rights and obligations.
- Interface with Fox litigation counsel regarding protection of the company against third party claims and assertion of Company rights against third parties.
- Ability to ascertain legal issues and determine the best legal position for the Company is necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree and a JD degree from a top-tier law school and admission to the California Bar.
- 3-5 year’s corporate transactional law experience or experience in an entertainment company (entertainment experience is preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word.
- Proven negotiation, drafting and analytical skills are required.
- Skills in prioritizing work and multitasking to meet tight deadlines in a high pressure environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility and creativity while advising within appropriate legal parameters.

IP Counsel, Bellevue WA

SENIOR CORPORATE COUNSEL – Intellectual Property & Mobile Content at T-Mobile

This experienced attorney, working in the T-Mobile Legal Department, will provide all legal advice and support relating to intellectual property and mobile content. Key responsibilities include: prosecution and management of all company intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, domains, trade secrets and patents; management of a patent incentive program; advising and teaming with litigation attorneys concerning patent claims and litigation; creation of intellectual property policies and training materials; working with European affiliates’ IP counsel on global trademark policies and licenses; advising internal business clients and law department staff; and hiring and managing outside IP counsel. This attorney also will be responsible for supporting the mobile content product development team. The successful candidate will negotiate and draft mobile content licenses and agreements, including those for games and music. Requirements include a law degree and 7+ years of legal experience, including IP and contracts experience. Law firm and in–house experience are strongly desired.

Candidate must have the aptitude for, and a strong desire to obtain, a deep and broad knowledge of wireless products and services. A demonstrated ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, and to advance practical solutions, is required. Candidate must be detail-oriented, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer-oriented interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to excel working with multiple clients in a fast-paced environment, also are required.

The Counsel's primary responsibilities will include negotiating, drafting, and analyzing a wide variety of licensing, sales, strategic alliance, and development agreements. Work independently but collaboratively in a collegial team environment within a fast-paced legal department. Responsibilities:

* Respond promptly to legal requests from business development/licensing, advertising sales, marketing, and other business clients.
* Advise sales professionals and management, as well as finance and other company departments on legal issues and risks, complex deal structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, intellectual property, and negotiation strategy.
* Negotiate agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance.
* Advise senior management on recommend courses of action and legal risks.
* Summarize and communicate legal concepts for use by business people.
* Daily review, draft and negotiate advertising services agreements, sales contracts, licenses/intellectual property agreements and other agreements. Daily in-house client interaction.
* Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.

Requirements:

* JD from top law school, excellent academic credentials.
* In-depth experience in contract law, with broad transactional background in technology related agreements.
* Experience advising clients on and structuring complex commercial transactions, including sales and services contracts.
* Significant experience in business development and intellectual property matters.
* Extensive background in drafting and negotiating services agreements, sales contracts, licenses/intellectual property and other agreements.
* Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking.
