Apple beats Beatles and GC beats it
Apple's General Counsel Nancy Heinen, who was their highest-ranking female executive, left the company without saying why. This news was reported on the heels of Apple Computer victory of Apple Corps where a British court ruled that the iTunes Music Store violated the parties’ 1991 Trademark Agreement. Private Equity Lawyers in Demand
Dealbook reports that the "boom in private equity investing is carrying over to the legal profession, with many law firms expanding practices in that field and hiring more lawyers as a result. And lawyers with a background in private equity may have their pick of jobs. "Private equity lawyers have become the new rock stars," one legal recruiter said. [NYT]
